The inspiration of this bike was to expose Christian's creativity, engineering, and fabrication skills. With the success of the "Swingshot", Dotson Design continued to grow and briefly moved to southern California, where the "Aileron" was created.

The craft of fabrication and bike design has always been an interest of mines. It has influenced a side of my art that has yet to be released. The bold lines and symmetry that flow equality through the frames and combination of details in the parts shapes/color/form. The builders paint through machinery and calculations. The next few weeks ill post some well known buillders that play the role of the draftsman, the artists, and the fabricator. They use machines to express their message. These are the same creators who can't stand if something is even a fraction of a millimeter off, why? Cause its its like a 10 meter thorn in the eye. A mm here a mm there. Disaster.
