Keep On It.

Above is gritty place that was know as the Kowloon Walled City aka KWC. A home for many that was so densely crowed sunlight was a stranger. Its meaning, heavy, its history rich. Its existence, eradicated. This one and only 6.5 acre structure was built on a piece of unruled real estate between China & Hong Kong. It stood and held the title of the most densely populated community in the world. Ungoverned and soulful in its own way... Its difficult to understand the way of life one would have lived inside such a beautifully decaying community.

"Once I'd settled here I found that there was less crime in it than outside. Although the police were not around there was a volunteer group to help keep the peace. It is a bit like back home in the villages of China - a harmonious state of anarchy". Chan Pui Yin. Herbal Medicine Pratitioner

With such a vibrant structure lost, I can only wish to experience this space. I will never understand the solution by eradicating the KWC. In a business standpoint, it could of been given the opportunity to become a infamous historical artifact. Serving as a tourist attraction providing an understanding of how the KWC came about. Imagine the stories that will never be told. Now it stands as a souless generic park, with paths surrounded by grass and fountains. Lost.

Feel the soul: Kowloon Walled City / KWC

On the roof of KWC, this is my select.
